What is the big deal about Pumpkin Show Playing Cards?

Pumpkin Show Playing Cards is a website that is designed to not only highlight the various decks of playing cards we have done for the Circleville Pumpkin Show, but also as a means to promote the Pumpkin Show itself.
ABOUT THE CARDS
- The playing cards are made of 300 GSM (10 pt stock).
- They are plastic coated on both sides and have a black-out center (so you
can't see through them).
- The cards are enclosed in a beautiful, full color box that highlights the
deck.
OTHER CIRCLEVILLE DECKS
For the past few years a different deck of playing cards has been produced
for the Circleville Pumpkin Show.
In 2004 there was a normal deck of cards produced that was enclosed in a tin. They were limited to 430 decks with very few decks left to purchase in town.
In 2005 we had the idea to create a deck of Circleville "Round Town" Souvenir Playing Cards based on an old deck of 1898 souvenir playing cards that owner, James Esteph had in his collection. The deck was a HUGE hit as several thousand were sold. There are still a couple hundred of these decks floating around town.
In 2006 we bring you not just one deck of cards, but two decks of
cards to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Circleville Pumpkin Show.
DECK 1 from 2006 - The mural deck features the 100th Anniversary Pumpkin Show
Mural which is being painted by Eric Henn. The card faces feature normal
suit cards on the 2-9 and unique Eric Henn pictures on the 10-A.

DECK 2 from 2006 - The souvenir deck features 54 antique photos from past
Pumpkin Shows. To be more precise, the pictures are from the first 50
years of the Pumpkin Shows. Quite possibly the largest printed
collection of old Pumpkin Show photos, this deck is done in the "Real"
Souvenir fashion where each card face has the image in an oval shape like
pictures and old decks used to be.

In 2007 we decided to shake up the old pumpkin a little and actually introduce a new deck of cards called, Buckeye Playing Cards. The idea was to introduce something totally different from the Pumpkin Show, but totally related to the community still. Why? In 2006 we introduced the Pumpkin Show deck showing the first 50 years and many people got confused thinking it was the same as the previous years deck called "Round Town." So to help folks separate the decks, we did a deck of cards about buckeyes and what the big deal is about buckeyes!
The 2008 season brought 2 different decks of cards for
the Pumpkin Show. One deck was specific to Circleville and was called
"Pets on Parade". This deck included cute pictures
taken the previous year from the Circleville Pet Parade.
The 2nd deck we did was more generic to Circleville in that it was designed
to be about pumpkins, but not the Pumpkin Show specifically. This deck
is called "Vintage Pumpkins" and contains old fashioned
artwork from the late 1800s and early 1900s.
For 2009 we will introduce our first "Pumpkin Show Art Deck" which features various art drawn by you. To find out more informaiton about this deck check out the Pumpkin Show Art Deck page.
